Values more than Hobbies

Image
Have Values, Not Hobbies There's one thing you will most certainly agree with me, that there are millions of people on this planet. Some of these people will be pleasant and open the door for you, while others will take your favorite parking spot that one day when you're late to college/work. Some people will borrow your brand new octane pen and promise to return it back but slip it into their pouch anyways. You may encounter people who say horrible things to you, on a rainy day, when you're late for college, wearing a shirt that is too tight for you because no matter how much you try to control yourself, that Pringles jar keeps calling you out, looking at you with those irresistible puppy dog face! (I'm being too specific projecting the story of my life!😅.) Throughout this entire experience, your values are being tested and attacked. That's why, they must be strong, because values don't get to take a day off. If you stay true to your values only when things ar

Your ex wasn't right for you!

Your ex wasn't right for you! Firstly, to all those sad souls, sorry about your recent break up. Welcome to what is probably the most specific article of this blog. The title implies that your ex, specifically YOUR ex (if you have one;if not, then la dee da!), wasn't right for you. That's quite ignorant of me to conclude, since I don't personally know you, or your ex( unless I'm your ex, in which case, awwkkkwwaaarrdd, because I'm awesome!😘). I don't know why you broke up or whose fault it was, if anyone's. But I do know that if someone is no longer in your life by choice, then they are simply not right for you. Allow this article to be a pizza for your heartbreak. Toppings include extra cheese, paneer tikka and a whole lot of truth. Human beings do this silly thing where they get into relationships. Not all species do that. A lot of species understand the importance of multiplication. So they pee in certain areas, meet up, get jiggy and nasty with it

Deadlines!

Set Deadlines! Remember that scene from 300 where Leonidas is getting attacked with arrows from every direction, but he continues attacking his enemy until his last breath? It's very painful to watch as he swings his sword with so much aggression and with a purpose. Deep down you know that it's the end, but his persistence gives you a little shred of hope.  That's what I looked like in school the night before a record submission was due. I had three weeks to get this 20-25 page Biology record done, but lo and behold there I was at 11 pm on a Sunday night stuffing my face with the third helping of Soya Rice. I'd tried to write the essay the previous Sunday, but I couldn't find a comfortable enough pen to create an outline, so I had to go stationery shopping. A few days later I tried again, but it turned out my desk was too messy to work on, so I had to clean my room. The day before, I had been committed to doing this essay but I sneezed a fe

Reach The Stars!

Aim High! Alright, let's just say that you are a car dealer. You happen to see a customer eyeing your car at a dealership and you're quite unsure if that they are going to buy it. I mean that'quite natural because most of the people just do window shopping. They see and leave which I know is super annoying. But, in this case we are talking about a potential customer. You really want them to buy the car because you could use the commission. The customer calls you over, acting mildly excited (not too much, just acting cool) but very clearly trying to keep their best poker face.So now, let the game begin!  You quote a price, they start walking away. They begin to walk away. You lower the price. They suggest an even lower price. Now what you do is , you start talking about the car's special features and they obviously pretend that they don't care that much. You say 10 Lakhs, the customer says 9 Lakhs. You say 9 Lakh 90 thousand they say 8 Lakhs. You make a final offer

The backup plan!

Image
The Alphabet is a LIE Hey there! I'm sure the title of the article sounds quite weird. A lot of parents are firm believers in having several backup plans when it comes to life. With respect to your career, finances and even relationships (ugh!), they stress how important it is to have a Plan A, Plan B, Plan C. Hell, some parents even make it to Plan E. Yes, that's right! A plane ( boy I'm on fire!🔥). What I am trying to say is that the idea of a backup plan is ingrained into our minds. If I'm travelling for a cousin's wedding, I pack the outfit that I'm going to wear, the Kurta, the pajama, the broach and the perfect chappals. Done. But then, what if for some unforseen reason that outfit doesn't make sense anymore once I arrive? What if I spontaneously gain 5 kilos on the plane ride because of turbulence or something? I better pack a backup outfit with another pair of chappals and broach. But then, neither of my outfits accounts for the weather

What you love!

Promote what you love Okay, so let's just say that your hands are holding a bat, gripped tight. You hold your shoulders back and get ready to swing it with all your might and force. There's this big Horse shaped   Piñata which is filled with all the things you dislike. It could be bad comments of people, negative vibes, or animal cruelty. It could be anything. The mentioned ones are the things I dislike. You take a deep breath, pull the bat back and swing it forward with all your strength and hit the  Piñata which causes it to break into a thousand pieces. All the things that you hate are scattered on the floor in bits. You are in anger and rage, so you hit the small pieces making them into even smaller pieces. They are practically like a puree now. You continue hitting, you break the floor tiles. The neighbors are complaining. Finally, you stand up straight and look at the terrible things you've broken. You feel happy.... ....until the next morning, you wake up t

Not made.Not broke

Don't be made. Don't be broken . Alright, imagine you're making an important presentation for representing your school. This presentation is very very very vvveeerrrryyyy important for you and you're thinking that if this doesn't work out, your life is literally over! You need this. Your entire existence completely depends on this presentation. To sum it all up and make you understand the situation...it is basically oxygen for you! To this I say: STOP! I don't want you to be struggling for air like a fish out of water when you have something important to do. If you think about it, it is quite terrifying and to be brutally honest, pretty stupid to base your entire education on one opportunity. Of course some things in life are very important, but an Amitastic person understands that no one thing must make you or break you. Good one right? 😅🙈 I mean look at it this way. You are building an empire and no empire is built overnight and at the same time, they do not
